Description

Product Overview

The process of removing heat from an internal combustion engine relies on three factors. Virtually all techniques designed to increase cooling efficiency fall into these three fundamentals:

  1. The mass rate of flow of cooling air.
  2. Greater heat exchange from motor to coolant, coolant to radiator, and radiator to air flow.
  3. The mass rate of flow of coolant.

Factor 1) Air flow increase is possible by increasing the frontal area of the radiator or by appropriate ducting; this is a useful technique to achieve better cooling.

Factor 2) A greater exchange rate is difficult and impractical to achieve, with the exception of a greater percentage of water versus anti-freeze. This may not even be possible depending on climate.

Factor 3) An increased flow rate of coolant.

In our efforts to increase cooling efficiency for Mazda Miatas, we've looked to the third fundamental factor of increasing coolant flow rate as a means to improve overall cooling. Our 10020G for the 1.8L motors in the NA/NB has proven to be so popular and successful, that we've been encouraged to design and invest in an NC pulley!

The pulley for the NC increases the coolant flow rate by approximately 10%. Made from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy, it is lightweight and durable. The pulley can easily be installed in under an hour, and reuses the factory mounting hardware. A shorter belt may be required for your installation.

Features and Benefits

  • 10% overdrive improves coolant flow rate
  • Weighs ~6.8oz
  • Fits 2005 to 2015 Miata
  • Direct bolt-on
  • Machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum
  • Precision machined in the USA

Note: A shorter belt may be required!
