Description
Product Overview
- The MaxG Downshift Rev Matcher replaces the "heel and toe" technique with a simple blipper button integrated into the gearshift knob. Press the button and the engine RPM increases to a preset value.
- The DRM permits the driver to concentrate on braking, rather than pressing the throttle, downshifting and braking simultaneously
- Faster lap times result from more controlled braking
- The DRM, by its better rev matching capability than one's heel, or not matching engine speed with transmission speed at all, will reduce the wear and tear on the clutch disc and pressure plate
- The safety and speed difficulties associated with a less than skillful heel and toe downshift are greatly reduced
- Brackets are 12 gauge 304 Stainless Steel
- Pictures show an installation on a 1.8L Miata; the 1.6L is similar
Note: If the blipper button is inadvertently pushed while in gear and driving the car, nothing happens, as the throttle push plate is farther away from the solenoid than the stroke of the push rod.
Models are available for 1.6L &1.8L Miata motors, as manufactured from 1990 to 2005
